Florence Bass is an award winning documentary filmmaker and photographer specialising in LGBTQ+ storytelling. Her work captures the resilience, intimacy, and everyday beauty of queer life, creating space for voices and perspectives often overlooked.
in 2025 she won the british journal of photography ‘female in focus’ award for her project on the women’s rock swimming group in lesvos, greece and her directorial debut, ranch, has been selected for multiple film festivals.
With a career spanning both television and digital media, Florence has contributed to productions for some of the UK’s most respected broadcasters, including BBC and Channel 4, as well as a range of leading streaming platforms.
Beyond broadcast, she has produced original content for British Vogue, VICE, and Penguin Random House, and collaborated with brands such as TicketSwap, bringing her distinct visual storytelling to both editorial and commercial projects.
